Chayote Vegetable Gravy
Ingredients:
Chayote: 300 gram
spinach: 250 gram
coconut milk: 250 gram
garlic: 3 cloves
shallot: 3 cloves
coriander: 0.5 tea spoon
walnut: 2 items
galingale: 2 internodes
laurellike/bay leaf(salam leaf): 2 sheets
lime/orange leaf: 2 sheets
salt: sufficiently
Cooking Method:
Blend shallot, garlic, coriander, walnut and salt.
Put into boiled water.
Add chopped galingale, salam/laurellike leaf and lime leaf.
Put the cubed chayote and spinach leaf.
Continue to boil until welldone.
Finally, pour coconut milk and mix sufficiently until welldone.
And chayote gravy is ready to serve.
Chayote is also useful to prevent hypertension. According to the research that chayote(sechium edule) has ability to decrease colesterol. Fibre substance of soluble in chayote is believed to tie
some of bile salt entering into intestines. The tieing of bile salt can decrese re-absorbtion of colesterol in intestines.
